My Steps To A Healthy Relationship
When two people create a bond while being wholly themselves, an ideal relationship is formed. A part of each person is not lost when this mutual love is brought into existence, rather a system of support, care, and respect is created to cherish individuality. This idea of individuality is crucial to a healthy teen relationship; too often the idea of ownership of one another is stressed. True love does not equate to belonging to someone. True love is trust, true love is honesty, and true love is respect regardless of the current situation. One of the most important relationship skills, however, is knowing when a relationship is unhealthy. Controlling, abusive, or disrespectful behavior should never be tolerated. No person is special enough to keep you from being you.
